This video by Master Yip will help students of Tai chi better understand balance. One important note: Do NOT hold your foot as demonstrated in the video. Again, don't do that! Don't hold one foot while standing on the other! Injury is possible because learning about how to NOT fall shouldn't be done by falling. Holding the foot is a more advanced level of practicing balance, even though the Master does not present it in that way. If you decide to ignore my words of caution, ask your certified instructor (in person class) to assist you if you want to try it. They are better suited to supervise and assist in a manner you cannot get from a video.
The video otherwise is very helpful to better understand how to improve your balance and become more confident. Consider limitations caused by issues with your hip, knees, and ankles. Remember to make tai chi YOUR practice, your personal improvement, your personal success. It is about you.
