Happy Winter Holidays

Calm Down and Merry Christmas! Although there are various holidays celebrated at this time of year, I was sorry to find that they are not all represented in the stock pictures within this website's software. I found plenty of Santa pictures for free but there is a charge to choose from just three pictures that represent Kwanzaa.

I decided to search the internet to find a suitable image to represent Kwanzaa. I found a good picture, but it was attached to an article with the headline Kwanzaa Is A Fake Holiday Invented By A Criminal Marxist.

The number of people in the United States that celebrate Kwanzaa, a non-religious holiday, is disputed but possibly larger than the number of people that celebrate Hanukkah. The majority of Americans celebrate Christmas in both a religious and secular manner.

What does all of this mean? If you are striving to live a Life of Virtuous Evolution it means that you find the best in your beliefs and actually live them. To disparage the beliefs of someone else or "that other group to which I don't belong" is to devolve. Examine why you would not want to live your best life - the life of acceptance and tolerance. Look for the positive, altruistic parts of your personal belief system. I like the description that I found on Wikipedia: Altruism is the principle and moral practice of concern for happiness of other human beings or other animals, resulting in a quality of life both material and spiritual. It is a traditional virtue in many cultures and a core aspect of various religious and secular worldviews.
