I worry about humanity. I worry about people putting two and two together and not arriving at four. I worry that the human race confuses opinions with facts, over and over again. I wonder if the world will ever be at peace.
These are some of the reasons that I find mindfulness, yoga, art, nature, and the beauty of the world that does exist so comforting.
Then I start to worry again, so here we go again. First of all, the bcalmbzen.com website has a lot of information about healing stones, their meaning and uses. There are so many beautiful stones for people to use as jewelry or in art. Over hundreds, perhaps thousands of years, meaning has been given to these wonders of nature. For instance, Aquamarine, a chakra stone, is said to help with communication. Citrine is associated with wealth and abundance. The magic of these stones lies in their ability to provide you with a visual reminder of your own powers. Wearing a citrine necklace will not make you wealthy. What a citrine necklace can do is serve as a reminder of your career goals and make you think about how to achieve those goals. Aquamarine can serve as a reminder to develop your communication skills. It does not magically turn you into a great orator or award winning writer. The stones are a SYMBOL and a REMINDER of how you want to direct a particular part of your life.
Secondly, mindfulness is a tool to improve focus. As I write this blog, I stop every few minutes to focus. I sit in the yard and watch the trees rustle in the wind or watch the birds near the pond. and direct my concentration to those activities and nothing else. Mindfulness is a calming, focus exercise. I expect no more or less from practicing these moments throughout the day.
Thirdly, there is music and there is noise, which is not the same as fun noisy music, just to be clear. We can fill our minds with music that spurs emotions such as happiness or sadness or energy. It can take us away from the negative noise of the world. The music on the website is mostly calm and not everybody will like it based on their musical preferences, but it is there to encourage you to find that music that you do like - the music that calms you or the music that energizes you.
Lastly, I want to mention social media in general. This blog and website are part of the social media universe but unlike the majority of it, we are not trying to sell anything. We are not telling you what political ideas are "right" or "wrong." We do not profit from it. We do have empathy for our fellow man and woman and if you gain anything from our blog and site, self awareness is the best takeaway.
And now the footnote: The most pressing issue anywhere is the global pandemic. Make your decision about vaccination based on the best science, keeping in mind that not everything that claims to be science is actual science. Negative information about vaccines that is clickbait (click and share - someone makes money) is not the best way to make an informed decision about a life or death issue. Having an argument on social media is not the best use of your time and it's the least mindful activity out there. Talk to your own doctor and have an in depth conversation about it, then make your decision. And remember, science evolves. It is not static. Since I don't want anyone to make medical decisions based on social media, I will not give advice, only my opinion. My opinion is that a good doctor will tell you to get vaccinated to save your own life, that of your friends and family and the people in your community.
Live long and prosper.
